ACUVUE® MULTIFOCAL Contact Lenses with PUPIL OPTIMISED DESIGN

ACUVUE® MULTIFOCAL Contact Lenses with PUPIL OPTIMISED DESIGN

ACUVUE® PUPIL OPTIMISED DESIGN

3 Easy Steps to Fit

1. Determine the Best Vision Sphere (BVS)

  • Perform a new subjective refraction○ then remove cylindrical power and determine best distance VA with the least minus spherical refraction°°.

2. Determine the sensory dominant eye

  • +1.00D blur test recommended rather than sighting method

3. Determine the lowest ADD based upon the patient’s needs

  • With the distance BVS in place, determine the lowest functional reading ADD

Top Tip: Over the spherical distance refraction, start with 0.50D less than the spectacle ADD and if necessary, increase in 0.25 steps until required near vision is achieved.

If your patient still has specific near or distance need, refer to enhancement tables.

All ACUVUE® contact lenses have Class 1 or Class 2 UV-blocking to help provide protection against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye. UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. UV transmission measured with -1.00 lens.

* Compared to prior JJV multifocal design; technology optimised for both the parameters of refractive error and add power for a multitude of viewing distances and light levels.

○ Proceed if astigmatism is less than 0.75DC.

○○ Apply vertex distance correction if greater than +/- 4.00D.

# Compared to competitor’s designs; technology optimised for both the parameters of refractive error and add power.

‡ Source: Euromonitor International Limited; based on research conducted in August 2020; "world" and "globally" represent markets accounting for 76% of total daily disposable contact lenses in 2019 (retail sales).

Important Safety Information

ACUVUE® Contact Lenses are indicated for vision correction. As with any contact lens, eye problems, including corneal ulcers, can develop. Some wearers may experience mild irritation, itching or discomfort. Contact lenses should not be used in case of eye infections or any other eye conditions, or in case of a systemic disease that may affect the eye. For complete information, including contraindications, precautions and adverse reactions, please consult the Instructions for Use or visit our J&J website www.jnjvisionpro.co.uk
