ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses for Astigmatism with Eyelid Stabilised Design harness the power of natural eyelid movements to help align and stabilise the lens, while traditional ballasted design may be affected by gravity to a greater degree1
* Vertical heterophoria possibly caused by prism dissociation due to the presence of induced optical prism is a relevant factor for practitioners to consider when fitting toric contact lenses for monocular astigmats or those requiring a mix of toric soft contact lens designs e.g., mixed prescriptions.3,4 Clinical studies have not been done to fully characterise the clinical effects of differences in base down prism among different contact lenses.
† Traditional prism and peri-ballast lens designs have a thicker area below lower eyelid than ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses for Astigmatism that can cause interaction and may cause unwanted rotation due to lateral movement of the lower lid during blinks.
‡ Criteria for first fit success: rotation ≤20 degrees, lens stability ≤5 degrees movement on blink; acceptable general fitting characteristics, no need for power or axis adjustment.
All ACUVUE® Contact Lenses have Class 1 or Class 2 UV-blocking to help provide protection against transmission of harmful UV radiation to the cornea and into the eye. UV-absorbing contact lenses are NOT substitutes for protective UV-absorbing eyewear such as UV-absorbing goggles or sunglasses because they do not completely cover the eye and surrounding area. UV transmission measured with -1.00 lens.
